South Korea and the United States had a joint air force demonstration over the Yellow Sea against North Korea's missile provocations.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff said South Korea and the U.S. conducted aerial demonstrations in response to North Korea's continued ballistic missile provocations.
In response to North Korea's eight short-range ballistic missiles and SRBMs on the 5th, South Korea and the U.S. responded with eight ground-to-ground missiles and ATACMS early on the 6th.But this time,armed demonstration was conducted in the air.
20 Fighter aircraft, including 16 F-35A, F-15K and KF-16 equipped with precise guided weapons and 4 F-16 from the U.S. Air Force in Korea, participated in the joint air force protest flight.
According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, South Korea-U.S. fighter aircraft formed an offensive squadron in the airspace over the Yellow Sea to overwhelmingly respond to enemy threats.
JCS also said that the joint air forceflight demonstrated the combined defense capabilities and posture of South Korea and the U.S. and showed strong ability and willingness to quickly and accurately strike any North Korean provocations.
The JCS explained that the South Korean military is maintaining a firm readiness posture while tracking and monitoring related trends under close cooperation between South Korea and the U.S. in preparation for further provocations by North Korea.
