Yoon Suk Yeol,in his New Year's address, announced the goal of ‘$50 billion in overseas construction orders.’Yoon continues to support all-round orders, especially in the Middle East, where large-scale infrastructure markets are held due to high oil prices. In particular, cooperation in eco-friendly energy and infrastructure construction between the two countries is also expected to be strengthened through President Yoon's visit to the UAE.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, which is officially carrying out President Yoon’svisit to the UAE, said it has established a comprehensive cooperation base to support overseas construction packages by signing a ‘Memorandum of understanding on the production, distribution, storage and utilization of hydrogen in the city’, Abu Dhabi, UAE on Jan. 15.

If the MOU confirms the UAE's local demonstration site and the related licensing process goes smoothly, demonstration projects will be launched in the UAE from next year, and hydrogen-related overseas markets will be the starting point. To this end, Minister Won plans to meet with Abu Dhabi's Minister of Urban Transportation, which is considered a strong site for UAE demonstration, to discuss ways to cooperate for the successful implementation of the technology cooperation project.

UAE is highly interested in eco-friendly green energy-based public transportation policies due to the hosting of the COP28 scheduled for November this year. It is expected to have high potential for cooperation with Korea's future mobility policy pursuing intelligence and eco-friendliness.

Finally, beyond construction infrastructure cooperation, the two countries signed a 'Smart Infrastructure Cooperation MOU' that adds smart technologies such as intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and three-dimensional spatial information systems.
