There are about 4,000 people living in Chennai who love Korean culture. In such city, the 2022 India Korea Fair held from November 17 to 20.
The fairjointly organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA - Chennai), the Consulate General of Chennai, the Korean Tourism Organization, the Inco Center, and the Express Avenue Mall. Regarding Chennai's growing interest in Korean culture, KOTRA Chennai said, "Chennai has Hyundai and Samsung factories, making it an industrial city. However, we didn't have many opportunities to tell people about our culture. It is said that K-drama, K-pop, and K-movies are familiar with people in cities today thanks to the OTT platform. So I think this is the right time to prepare for this event."
The event, which offered a glimpse of fascinating Korean culture, showcased K-consumer products from more than 20 exhibitors representing cosmetics, food, electronics, fashion and jewelry. The exhibition list includedSK International, Daring Diva, Mirabel Cosmetics, Lisen, K-love India, Myopa Korean stores and Borotic Industries. Customers can freely test things including K-food and cosmetics.
Furthermore, Busan, South Korea's second-largest city competing to host the World Expo 2030, had its own exhibition hall. The event also featured a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) desk to promote economic cooperation. The pavilion of the Korea Tourism Organization provided information on attractive tourist attractions in Korea.
